Hi guys, hope you are doing well. Today I’m going to take you to another observation point in Kandy. The place is called ‘Arthur’s Seat’. It is also known as ‘Kandy View Point’ (the name says it all). But, first of all, let me tell you, this is not a highly recommended place to visit in Kandy (in my opinions). But, if you have enough time, you can visit the place.
A considerable part of Kandy city is visible from Arthur’s Seat, including Dalada Maligawa (Temple of The Sacred Tooth Relic), Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), Bahirawa Kanda, etc. The view is beautiful and panoramic. But it is not good as much as you get in Bahirawa Kanda.
There are some restaurants and souvenir shops nearby Arthur’s Seat. So you can have a relax time observing the surround while having some drink. You can buy some souvenirs which are only limited to Sri Lanka here.
How to Reach Arthur’s Seat?
If you are about to visit the place, here is the exact location.

The place can be accessed via Rajapihilla Mawatha and there is only 1.3km from Sri Dalada Maligawa. But you have to climb a steep hill. If you are planning to walk up to the place, it will be a one tough exercise. Parking spaces are limited at Arthur’s Seat, so sometimes you might have to park your vehicle little bit away from the place.
So there is not much talk about this place. I’m telling you again, I’m not listing this place as a place you must visit in Kandy. If you have enough time, consider visiting this place. If you need more information feel free to leave a comment below. See you in the next article.
